"Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking." ~Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada")
This quote is probably one of the most memorable from the film, which is one of my favorites. If Miranda Priestly saw this post, she would probably laugh at my lack of originality. Florals in Spring? I should do better.
But I can't help my love of (subdued) floral prints, so here goes.
The first look would be best for the cooler months of Spring. Chiffon, lounge-style floral-print shorts get a cozy upgrade with a soft pink turtleneck. Two-tone loafers keep the look dressy and great for day-to-night. Accessorize with a simple black-strap watch and delicate gold or silver jewelry.

This second look would be more fitting for a birthday dinner or some sort of more formal outing. Here, a beautiful floral print is embroidered onto a sheer black bomber jacket, the perfectly light outerwear for a warmer Spring day/evening. Let the jacket shine and keep the rest of the outfit simple, with an angular black mini skirt and minimalistic white, sleeveless top. For shoes, I really love these open-toe white booties. You can also have some fun with accessories and makeup - try a lilac pout and mint green crossbody.
